Fixed Term/Secondment - Up to 15 months (ending
November 2024)
An
opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual who wants to gain some
valuable experience working within an ICB on a secondment or fixed term basis
for 12 months.
There are two roles available, one is within the Acute, Mental Health and Community workstream and the other is working in the Continuing
Healthcare workstream and both will work across all places within the ICB.

The base location will be chosen by the successful candidate. This will be in one of our four places; Sheffield, Barnsley, Rotherham or Doncaster.

Main duties of the job
Providing a lead role within the Finance Team to produce accurate and
timely financial management information for your designated portfolio.
Liaising with colleagues across the ICB including clinical staff to
gather, challenge and interpret information and discuss risks and variances and
support proactively to make corrective action where necessary.
A high degree of analytical and interpretative skills will be necessary
together with excellent communication skills.

The post is a senior post within the ICB, the post holder will contribute to the overall strategy and delivery of robust financial management of the ICB.
- Working within the Finance team; the post holder will also work effectively across the ICB in a multi-disciplinary environment and regularly liaise with other organisations across the region
- Produce month-end accounts and reports, for a designated portfolio, contributing to the total accounts of the ICB, including forecasting to the end of the financial year, by analysing complex trends, reconciling the general ledger, calculation and input of accruals and forecasts to the accounting system, cost centre reviews and other month end queries. Investigate variances from budgets as required and provide advice and take corrective action
- Plan own workload to ensure deadlines in monthly, quarterly, and annual finance timetables are met and support the team to ensure all reporting deadlines for the team are achieved
