NHS Kent and Medway Kent Integrated Care Board is seeking to recruit a Placement Officer to work as part of a dynamic team delivering an effective Specialist Assessment and Placements service for NHS Continuing Healthcare (adults and children), Mental Health, Learning Disability and Children's specialist placements.
The administrative team undertake a wide range of administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of the business and delivery of the teams objectives. The team are required to deliver a client-focused service that promotes good customer service and effective working relationships.
Placement Officer roles are key in enabling the Administrative Team to deliver against its objectives co-ordinating work across delegated areas of focus.
All members of the team must be able to work unsupervised, on their own initiative, with a flexible and adaptable approach in order to meet various deadlines while maintaining good attention to detail
Main duties of the job
The administrative team undertake a wide range of administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of the business and delivery of the teams objectives.
Additionally, wherever possible, non clinical tasks will be delegated from clinicians to the administrative team to allow clinical staff to focus on patient care.
Through the course of the above a wide range of administrative tasks are undertaken across the team, including but not limited to the following, where the successful postholder will be asked to provide support across a defined area of responsibility:
- The post holder will support the clinical team and assist in the process of securing appropriate placements and support for eligible patients across the North Kent.
- This will include building effective relationships with relevant professionals and key stakeholders (i.e. Patients and their families, nurse assessors, hospital discharge teams, placements providers, local authorities, district nurses, hospice staff and GPs)
- Administrative processing of patient referrals for a range of clinical services.
- Acting as the key point of contact for the team dealing with phone and email enquiries, communicating relevant information to stakeholders, referring to others as appropriate.
- Maintaining a patient management database.
- To carry out other appropriate delegated duties as required.
