About us

Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) are partnerships of organisations that come together to plan and deliver joined up health and care services, and to improve the lives of people who live and work in their area.

The Northamptonshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) is an NHS organisation within the ICS, responsible for developing a plan for meeting the health needs of the population, managing the NHS budget and arranging for the provision of health services in the ICS area. The establishment of ICBs resulted in clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) being closed down. The NHS Northamptonshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) was established in July 2022. Work continues to develop both the ICS and ICB and with the formation of new partnerships, strategies and outcomes, this is an exciting time to be part of this journey.

The Primary Care team sits within the ICB and is responsible for supporting Primary Care to ensure it can deliver the best services to its local population while maintaining safe and effective care and meeting its contractual obligations. The team continues to grow and will take on further responsibilities once the management and support of Dental, Opthalmic and Pharmacy services are delegated to the ICB.
