Are you looking for an opportunity to kick-start your occupational therapy career in Paediatrics? We are a highly successful integrated therapy service with a pooled budget across health and social care. Although based in East Sussex,we are employed by KCHFT which is an outstanding trust.

We believe that the best health care is delivered by multi-disciplinary teams working together and in partnership with other teams to provide seamless care.

We are currently seeking a B5 Occupational Therapist with experience in paediatrics either prior to training or post-qualification or with an interest in working with children and young people in a specialist education setting, complexphysical disability or community working. You will need to be initiative-taking, resilient and solution-focused to embracenew ways of working; with an emphasis on multi-agency working and driving improved outcomes for children and youngpeople.

Car-driver is essential. The post-holder will work closely within the complex needs integrated team including Speech and Language Therapy, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Adaptations, School Nursing and Integrated Therapy Assistants as well as the wider service.

Main duties of the job

Band 5 Registered Healthcare Professionals works closely with all users of our services and their families, friends andcarers who all play an invaluable contribution in how our users experience our services. Band 5 Registered HealthcareProfessionals are expected to be kind and responsive but professional and informative and contribute to the quality of theservices provided across the health economy by:o Keeping the people who use our services as safe as possible through the use of sound clinical skills and effective riskassessmentso Ensuring the best possible clinical outcomes by using up-to-date skills and adhering to evidence based policies andprocedureso Ensuring the people using our services have a good experience by respecting, empowering and working in partnershipwith people throughout the care planning processo Assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of holistic care linked to packages of prescribed careo The development of integrated care programmes in partnership with the patiento To support in the supervision and development of all junior staff including Health Care Support Workers and Studentso To actively work as a member of the multi-professional team to provide high quality care to patientso To undertake a range of competent clinical interventions to support the outcomes of both individual and group therapyo Manage a caseload of patients on a daily basis consisting of patients with complex needs associated within a specificspeciality
