Main duties of the job
The Dover Community Nursing Team provides high-quality nursing care to adults aged 18 and over in their own homes, supporting people with complex and long-term conditions to remain safe, well and independent in their chosen environment. Our service delivers a wide range of interventions including wound management, palliative and end-of-life care, symptom control, catheter care, venepuncture and the administration of injectable medications. We are committed to delivering personalised, holistic care that prevents unnecessary hospital admissions and supports patients to live well at home.
As a Band 6 Community Nurse Team Leader, you will play a key role in leading and supporting the team while managing your own caseload of patients with varied and often complex needs. Your daily work will include providing expert clinical care, overseeing wound dressings, catheter management, medication administration, VAC therapy and end-of-life support. You will guide and mentor students and junior staff, helping to build skills and confidence across the team. You will also contribute to service delivery by supporting colleagues, coordinating care and ensuring high clinical standards are maintained.
This role is ideal for an experienced community nurse who enjoys both hands-on clinical work and team leadership. You will bring strong assessment skills, a proactive approach and a commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centred care.
