We're looking for an experienced and motivated Radiographer to join our friendly and professional imaging team at Sevenoaks Hospital. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive environment where high-quality patient care and collaborative working are at the heart of everything we do.

As a key member of the Radiology team, you'll carry out the full range of radiographic procedures within our X-ray department, which operates two general rooms and supports patients referred from the Urgent Treatment Centre, GPs, Consultants, in-patients and outpatients. You'll play an important role in delivering a responsive, efficient and patient-centred imaging service.

You'll work closely with colleagues across the hospital, contributing to a smooth and safe service while maintaining high professional standards. The department uses Soliton and Sectra PACS, and you'll be confident working within these systems to ensure accurate imaging, reporting workflows and patient records.

Main duties of the job

We're looking for a qualified and confident Radiographer with either a BSc in Radiography (or equivalent) or a DCR Diploma of the College of Radiographers, along with HCPC registration andrelevant clinical experience. You'll be committed to delivering safe, accurate and patient-centred imaging, and ready to take on a senior role within a busy community hospital setting.

In this role, you will:

  • Justify X-ray requests and ensure the correct patient is imaged

  • Follow all safety protocols, including LMP rules for females aged 12-55 and local radiation safety procedures

  • Record radiation doses accurately using the DAP meter

  • Maintain high standards of technique, exposure, identification, orientation and documentation

  • Adhere to Quality Assurance guidelines and participate actively in QA processes

  • Provide courteous, compassionate care to all patients undergoing imaging

  • Work in line with professional standards set by the Society and College of Radiographers and departmental codes of conduct

  • Ensure full compliance with IR(ME)R, IRR, the Data Protection Act and Health & Safety legislation

  • Wear personal radiation monitoring equipment as required

  • Keep your skills up to date through CPD and mandatory training

  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a supportive team

  • Attend staff meetings and participate in appraisals
