Main duties of the job
Our team provides high-quality, evidence-based care to support people with epilepsy. You'll be part of a passionate group dedicated to helping those in Kent and Medway stay safe and well, ensuring their condition is managed as effectively as possible. This involves working directly with patients and often their carers and families.
Day-to-day tasks will vary and may include taking detailed epilepsy histories and referring to other services when needed, offering general safety advice and guidance for specific situations like pregnancy, reviewing and suggesting medication adjustments in line with consultant guidelines for GPs, delivering both general and targeted education sessions on epilepsy and rescue medication, managing waiting lists and discharging patients, prioritising workloads to meet service targets, contributing to triage duties, working autonomously in line with advanced competencies set by the National Epilepsy Specialist Nurse Association, and developing best practices.
