Job summary

We are recruiting for an experienced School Nurse to join our professional Team.

Working within the East Sussex School Health Service which supports children and young people from 5- 19 years , you will work as part of a team led by our Specialist Community Public Health Nurses (SCPHNs) to deliver a range of public health interventions to improve the health and wellbeing of children, young people and their families of East Sussex.

Main duties of the job

Your daily activities will be varied to include:

Promoting public health initiatives. to support Healthy lifestyles for Children and Young people and their families.

Delivering packages of care e.g. healthy weight, toileting, behaviour/ parenting, emotional health and well-being.

Undertaking health needs assessment

Providing Support in the daily management of Young people's texting service

Managing a caseload of Children and Young People

Focusing on high impact areas set out in the healthy child programme

Safeguarding of children and families

Leading on QI projects

  • Level 6 Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject (e.g. Nursing).
  • Registered Health Care Professional with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
  • Recent healthcare experience, gained through education, work experience, or previous employment.

  • IT literacy - able to use systems and databases effectively.
