Advanced Pharmacist (Sexual health and HIV services)

Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable Advanced Pharmacist to join our professional team.

You will provide a holistic highly specialist pharmaceutical care service to patients accessing the HIV and sexual health services within Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust to achieve high quality, cost effective and evidence-based prescribing/use of pharmaceuticals in specific areas.

We're a close team but we're never exclusive, if you can bring a professional approach and fresh ideas we would love to hear from you.

Experience in HIV and Sexual Health preferable and advantageous , but not essential as specialist training will be given to the right candidate

Main duties of the job

You'll be required to be a clinical specialist and support the Lead Specialist Pharmacist in providing specialist pharmacy services to the sexual health service; this may include prescribing, support work and developing initiatives.

You will work closely with the people who use our services, families, friends and carers and play an important contribution in how people experience our services.

In this role you'll have a key leadership role, acting as a role model for others.

Advanced Pharmacists are responsible for ensuring that the team provides effective care planning which meets professional standards and is in collaboration with their services users and carers. They facilitate reflection on the service delivery and identification of quality improvement work.

Essential

  • General Pharmaceutical Council Registration as a pharmacist
  • Master's level qualification (e.g., MSc in Pharmacy) with continued professional development or equivalent demonstrable experience
  • Non-Medical Prescribing qualification, or near completion of the course

Desirable

  • Leadership/management/coaching qualification
  • Good Clinical Practice Certificate
  • Member of The Royal Pharmaceutical Society

Experience

Essential

  • In-depth experience of preparation of protocols or guidelines, undertaking audit & reporting results, presenting at local/regional level, preparing budgetary reports
  • Extensive post registration experience in area of practice, working as a clinical pharmacist at a high level as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Experience of leading and managing teams, developing policy and service development plans
  • Practical experience of change management and in managing health related projects/complex caseloads

Desirable

  • Contribution to regional or national specialist interest group(s), publications and/or conferences
  • Experience in both community and hospital pharmacy
