Job summary

Are you looking for an opportunity to advance your occupational therapy career in Paediatrics? We are a highly successfulintegrated therapy service with a pooled budget across health and social care. Although based in East Sussex, we areemployed by KCHFT which is an outstanding trust.

We are currently seeking an Occupational Therapist with minimum of 2- years post qualification experience in paediatrics with an interest in working with children and young people in specialist education settings, complex physical disability andcommunity working. An interest in AAC, CPIPS and/or knowledge of postural management would be advantageous. We areseeking highly motivated and innovative therapists to embrace new ways of working and with an emphasis on multi-agency working and driving improved outcomes for children and young people. Car-driver is essential.

This post is for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to work with children or young people from 0-19 years: working in clinics,special schools and community. The post-holder will work closely within the complex needs integrated team includingSpeech and Language Therapy, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Adaptations, School Nursing and Integrated Therapy Assistants as well as the wider service.

Main duties of the job

To work within an integrated children's therapy team including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech andLanguage Therapists, assistants and administrators for children aged 0-19.

We are jointly commissioned by health and the local authority to assess and provide therapeutic interventions including statutory provision, equipment and adaptationsfor children living in East Sussex.

We have reviewed our model of service delivery to enable improved response times and improve access to specialist advice including telehealth for all stakeholders. Interventions are delivered in a variety ofsettings including clinics, schools and a child's home.
