Job summary

We are seeking a Band 5 Immunisation Nurse to cover all schools and clinics across the Dartford, Gravesham,Sevenoaks, and Edenbridge areas. This post offers flexible working options including full-time, part-time, orterm-time hours.Eligible Professionals:Nurses and midwives registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), (Nursing associates are noteligible)Pharmacists registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)Paramedics and Physiotherapists registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)Working Hours:Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, with the expectation to work some Saturday clinics.Essential Requirements:Full UK driving licenceUse of a car for work purposes

Main duties of the job

  • Deliver a consistent, comprehensive immunisation service to children and young people educated,registered, or resident in Kent and Medway across a variety of settings, including schools, clinics, andcommunity venues.
  • Administer vaccinations as part of the National Childhood Immunisation Programme and Staff Flu Campaign, including:
  • Seasonal flu vaccine (September to January each academic year)
  • Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) vaccine (single dose in Year 8 with catch-ups in Year 9)
  • Meningococcal disease strains A, C, W, Y (MenACWY) vaccine (Year 9 with catch-ups in Year 10)
  • Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Polio (Td/IPV) vaccine (administered alongside MenACWY)
  • Support targeted catch-up programmes such as MMR and neonatal Hepatitis B.
  • Collaborate with Health Visitors, School Nurses, Looked After Children's Nurses, educational staff, Primary Care colleagues, NHS England, Public Health, and other agencies to ensure a highly efficient, safe, andeffective immunisation service.
  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate immunisation sessions to maintain high-quality care, meet organisational standards, and respond flexibly to local population needs.
  • Analyse local immunisation uptake data, implement public health strategies, and proactively reduce barriers to maximise vaccination coverage.
  • Provide expert information and guidance to parents, professionals, and school staff to support informed decision-making and smooth running of immunisation sessions.
