We are a highly successful integrated therapy service with a pooled budget across health and social care since 2013. Although based in East Sussex, we are employed by KCHFT which is an outstanding trust.

We are currently seeking an Occupational Therapist with minimum of 2 years post qualification experience in paediatrics with pre-existing experience working with neurodevelopmental conditions and a desire to develop knowledge of complex physical disability; including Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, ABI, spinal injuries and children or young people with multiple needs including developmental delay and sensory processing difficulties.

Training will be provided as part of a Band 6 development post. We are seeking an enthusiastic practitioner who is looking to advance their career in paediatrics. The post-holder will receive high quality supervision and intensive in-house training to meet the competencies required to move into a permanent B6 position.

The ability to embrace innovation, new ways of working and embrace change is essential to this role. This is a full-time post. Due to nature of community working the post-holder will need to drive and have use of a car although some days will be either clinic or special school based.

Main duties of the job

To provide a specialist therapy service to children aged 0-19 as part of an East Sussex Children's Integrated TherapyService, provided by Kent Community Health Foundation Trust (KCHFT).You will be part of a team of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists and Assistantsthat covers early years and school years children with learning disability and complex/ multi-disciplinary needs.The role will include providing therapy as part of an integrated team in partnership with a special school for children whohave a diagnosis of autism, developmental delay and/or complex learning and medical needs.To be responsible for managing a complex and specialist clinical caseload.To provide a high quality and cost-effective clinical service to disabled children /young people and their families incollaboration with the Locality team, Professional Leads and Locality Clinical Managers.To be responsible for the appraisal and line supervision of Band 5 staff and/or Assistants/ Key Workers within the team incollaboration with Professional Leads and Locality Clinical Manager as appropriate.

Additional Working Pattern: 1.6 WTE Vacancy- can be full time or part-time.
