Job summary

As a Band 6 Physiotherapist within the Community Rehabilitation Team you willbe assessing and providing intervention for a wide range of conditions includingfalls and orthopaedics. Your caseload will include patients with complex healthand social care issues. You will also be involved in supervision of junior staff,students and service improvement.We provide holistic assessment of patients' needs and help patients achievemaximum independence in daily living activities and improved well-being.We provide short-term rehabilitation to enable patients, where possible, toremain in the community rather than be admitted to hospital or long-term care,and to live as independently as possible. We have close links with Acute Hospitalsto ensure patients are able to continue their rehabilitation in the communityfollowing discharge home. The service treats adults with a wide range of physicaldisabilities

Main duties of the job

Band 6 Physiotherapists work closely with the people who use our services, families, friends and carers and play an important contribution in how peopleexperience our services.Band 6 Physiotherapists are expected to be kind, responsive and professional,contributing to the quality of the services we provide by:

  • Keeping the people who use our services safe through the use of sound clinical skills and effective risk assessments
  • Ensuring the best possible clinical outcomes by using up-to-date skills and adhering to evidence-based policies and procedures
  • Ensuring the people that use our services have a good experience by respecting, empowering and working in partnership with them.

We believe that the best health care is delivered by multi-disciplinary teams working well together and in partnership with other teams and services to provideseamless care. Band 6 Physiotherapists work as part of a team and contribute toits success by being a role model, supervising more junior members of the team(Qualified and unqualified) and students to ensure they are working to theprofessional standards required and provide leadership within the team.

  • Diploma/Degree in physiotherapy
  • Appropriate State registration with the Health Professions Council

Desirable

  • Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
  • Other relevant recent qualifications/post graduate course

Experience

  • Minimum of 18 months recent experience within the past 2 years at band 5 level or above.
  • Evidence of relevant, broad-based clinical experience to include; Care of the older person, Neurology, musculoskeletal
  • Experience of working with assistants/support workers
  • Evidence of multidisciplinary working

Desirable

  • Clinical experience within community, working with patients with neurological conditions
  • Recent qualified NHS experience within last 2 years.
