Main duties of the job

As a trainee member of staff you will be expected to be committed to learning provided in-house by university associated lecturers to assess, diagnosis, implement and treat of a range of highly specialised care for adults and children (aged 1 year and above) presenting with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems visiting the unit. Following successful completion of the Trainee Practitioner Course (approx. 1 year) you will have the opportunity to apply to Canterbury Christ Church University to complete a negotiated learning module to endorse the practitioner training. Once successfully completed and core competencies are signed off you will be encouraged to apply for Band 6 Practitioner post as one becomes available. There will be opportunities to develop you to lead an area of practice, and liaise with leads at other MIU/UTC sites within the organisation, attend relevant meetings and disseminate information to team members.

  • First level registered Nurse Registered Paramedic Practitioner HPC Completion of diploma in nursing or relevant qualification All Mandatory training Commitment to ongoing training and development.

  • Mentor training Evidence of specialist courses in minor injury/ minor illness management

  • The post holder will have a minimum of two years' experience as a level one nurse or paramedic
