Job summary

As a Public Health Assistant, you will be a valued and welcomed addition to the workforce. This new and exciting role brings an opportunity for those with experience of working with children aged 0-5 years and their families to develop their skills and knowledge. By working as part of a team you will contribute to successful outcomes for children and families. We offer excellent internal and external training to support your development. Main duties of the job

You will be required to understand and identify healthy growth and development in children aged 0-5 years, which is monitored through health and well-being reviews and promoting the ages and stages questionnaire. You will understand child development and the importance of play in children's lives and learning, language development, special educational needs and disability. You will participate in the care of children and families in community settings under the direction of a more senior member of the health visiting team. Daily workload will be varied with a range of activities to enable you to support children and young people, families and carers to improve their health and well-being.
