We are a team of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, assistant practitioners, and technical instructors who work within a ward based environment in an integrated way with nurses, health care assistants, clinical support workers and also have adult social care staff co-located within the ward environment in order to provide holistic assessment and rehabilitation for people who have been deemed ready to leave hospital, but not yet ready to return home. The work is varied and interesting - no two days are ever the same. You will provide holistic assessments, work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team and be able to assess, plan and follow up patients to enable them to reach their rehabilitation potential.

The post holder requires a high degree of empathy, understanding, diplomacy, honesty, and integrity as well as good communication and interpersonal skills, and be willing to undertake on-going training and development.

You need to have significant post grad NHS experience, preferably with both acute and community experience, have a good understanding of risk management and moving and handling. Excellent communication skills and an ability to prioritise a large caseload of complex patients are essential. You will need good time management skills. This post would suit a Occupational Therapist wishing to develop their skills and knowledge in a supportive environment.
