Specialist Safeguarding Nurse for Integrated Front Door (IFD)

Job summary

We are looking for a dedicated and proactive individual to join our Safeguarding team as an Integrated Front Door (IFD Nurse). The successful candidate will work as part of a dynamic multi-agency team,assessing notifications and referrals regarding children aged 0-18 in the IFD within Chehsire East children's services. This vital role plays a key part in ensuring the health needs of children and young people are identified, represented, and shared during multi-agency discussions and assessments.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be part of a co-located multi-agency team including police officers, social workers and others.

The post holder will be required to maintain constructive relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders and specifically health professionals from a wide range of services and disciplines.

Through liaison and dialogue identify and collate the relevant health information to add to the assessment for early help provision and also contribute to the multi-agency risk assessment in relation to safeguarding decisions.

Record, Interpret and present health information and issues that can impact on the risk or needs assessment of child/children from a range of health perspectives.

Explain clearly, and with sound rationale, highly complex safeguarding children information, to a wide range of professionals.

Participate in the IFD multi-agency risk assessment to inform the case management, advising where necessary and challenging decisions when appropriate.

  • Registered Nurse
  • Registered Specialist Community Public Health Nurse or RSCN
  • NSPCC safeguarding supervision Training or Equivalent
  • Post graduate qualification in leadership or equivalent experience
  • Post graduate qualification in a safeguarding relating subject such as supervision

Desirable

  • Post graduate qualification in safeguarding related subject

Experience and knowledge

Essential

  • Post registration experience as Health Visitor, School Nurse or RSCN, with significant experience of Safeguarding Children processes
  • Experience of providing supervision to staff
  • Sound working knowledge of Community Health Care provision
