Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, motivated and skilled biomechanics specialist podiatrist to join our community podiatry service at Wirral Community Foundation NHS Trust.
You must possess a degree/diploma in Podiatry or recognised equivalent qualification, a local anaesthesia certificate and be registered with the Health & Care Professions Council. You must also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with GP's and other healthcare professionals. Good IT skills are essential as the role requires working across a range of clinical systems
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant must have a specialist interest in biomechanics, ideally with previous experience of managing musculoskeletal patients with biomechanical conditions, however further training, mentorship and support will be provided to the right candidate.
You will provide biomechanical assessments and implement treatment plans, utilising pre-fabricated and custom made insoles manufactured in-house using our state of the art CAD-CAM orthotic milling machine (Voxelcare).
You will also be responsible for assessing and treating a wide range of complex podiatry conditions for patients with a variety of other clinical needs, including acute or chronic, neuropathies, chronic diseases, vascular problems, wound management and Nail Surgery.

The podiatry service is provided from a number of community clinics, G.P. practices as well as nursing homes and domiciliary settings across the Wirral peninsula, therefore you must have access to your own transport for work purposes.

The Wirral peninsula sits between Merseyside and North Wales and has excellent transport links to North Wales, Liverpool, Manchester, as well as the historic city of Chester.
