Job summary

We are looking for proactive and dynamic Heath Care Assistant to join our DVT/Anticoagulation Service. The service provides high quality care for patients with suspected and confirmed DVT and acute anticoagulation needs. Your role will be to provide support in the running of the clinic and management of patients under the direct supervision of the registered nurses .

To join team you must have:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, or demonstrable equivalent experience.
  • Venepuncture skills
  • caring and compassionate attitude
  • a strong desire to help people
  • good communication skills
  • Access to a car for work purposes

The post involves a 7 day working rota (shifts 8am - 18.30).

Main duties of the job

Our Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) / Anticoagulation Service is a community-based, nurse-led, DVT assessment and treatment service for mobile and immobile patients.

The post holder will work to support the practitioners in providing a nurse- led service to assessment, diagnose and treat deep vein thrombosis and manage acute anticoagulation needs.
