An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent full time (37.5hrs ) Specialist Nurse Safeguarding Adults within the Safeguarding Adult Governance Team.

You will be a Registered Nurse with experience in working with Adults in the Community. You will be highly motivated and enthusiastic with excellent communication and leadership skills.
As a Specialist Nurse Safeguarding Adults you will support the Named Nurse to deliver a Safeguarding Adult Service in line with the Trust's statutory roles and responsibilities to Safeguard and promote the welfare of adults who access WCHC integrated services.
You will support the development and implementation of Safeguarding policies and procedures as delegated by the Named Nurse working together with key Safeguarding professionals to improve outcomes for adults at risk.
You will contribute to data collection and analysis to support audit activity and quality assurance processes in relation to the Safeguarding Assurance Framework.
You will ensure Safeguarding training is aligned with Intercollegiate 2018 and current legislation and facilitate delivery of this to WCHC staff.
You must be able to demonstrate excellent clinical skills, be Caring and Compassionate and uphold the Trust Values.
Main duties of the job

To offer debrief and/or safeguarding supervision to staff relating to all aspects of adult safeguarding and to maintain appropriate records to evidence the process.
Provide regular performance reports and development of national policy to senior management teams in key agencies including Department of Health
Implement and deliver a rolling training safeguarding programme for WCHC staff, in all aspects of safeguarding adults including Safeguarding Adults, MCA/DoLS, Domestic Abuse, Harmful Practices and Modern Slavery, including its implications, to include regular audits to assess the effectiveness of the content and provision of reports as required.

To ensure appropriate dissemination of all Department of Health and other relevant Government department documents and research papers in relation to the abuse and protection of adults (including Domestic Abuse, Safeguarding Adults, MCA/DoLS).
To ensure own knowledge and skills base is maintained via continued professional development and the nurturing of a culture of lifelong learning, with an emphasis on seeking out evidence-based research to underpin and guide practice.
To work as an active and fully integrated member of WCHC Safeguarding Service and have broad knowledge of all aspects of safeguarding, in order to assist with enquiries to include Safeguarding Adults, Domestic Abuse, MCA/DOLS, Harmful Practices, Human Trafficking/Modern Slavery, when required.
To represent WCHC at MAPPA Single Point of Contact where required.
To support the facilitation of MARAC in the absence of WCHC Domestic Abuse Practitioner including the attendance of MARAC, working closely with Police and other statutory and non-statutory partner agencies.
To quality assure and monitor domestic abuse risk assessments and MARAC referrals, undertaking any safeguarding actions indicated and liaise with relevant staff and partner agencies in order to discharge WCHC duties in regard to MARAC and be fully informed of all WCHC cases when attending MARAC meetings.
