Job summary

Wirral Community NHS Trust Wirral Walk In Centre's operate across 3 sites on the Wirral 7 days a week to deliver timely, effective, quality care to our patients. Sites include VCH Wallasey, Urgent Treatment CentreArrowe Park Hospital and Eastham Clinic

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated Staff Nurses who are keen to work flexibly across the 3 Walk in Centre locations, to join a friendly and well established nurse led team. This is a valuable opportunity for Staff Nurses to work in an expanding service in which they will develop their nursing and clinical knowledge and skills, as relevant to all aspects of Unplanned Care.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide clinical care for patients who present with minor injuries and illnesses that can be effectively managed inthe community in order to prevent presentation to secondary care.

To deliver easy access to a healthcare professional, no appointment required, seven days per week from 8am - 10pm, including Bank Holidays.

The post holder will also support the Trust in 4 hour access targets; supporting secondary care in meeting targets and reducingattendances to AED

The main responsibilities are to ;

Perform comprehensive assessment of patient nursing needs

Perform comprehensive triage to identify clinical data to appropriately, plan, implement and evaluate care delivery according to changing health care needs.

Collect, collate and report information, maintaining accurate patient recordsInvolve patients and carers/relatives in the planning and delivery of care

Work collaboratively with other professionals and agencies to ensure needs are met in relation to care input andsupport for on-going care needs

Establish and maintain effective communication with patients and carers/relatives Recognise and respondappropriately to urgent and emergency situations Administer medications under Patient Group Directives

Provide wound care to patients

Managerial/LeadershipSupervise others and participate in their education and development

Ensure the effective and efficient use of physical and financial resources

Monitor and maintain health, safety and security of self and others and report to Band 7 nurse on duty

Ensure rooms are stocked with relevant equipment
