Job summary

Rotational Physiotherapist

We have fantastic opportunities available for new or experienced talented Band 5 Physiotherapists to join the physiotherapy rotation between our community- based therapy services on the Wirral and our neighbouring acute Trust.

The posts are rotational across Rehabilitation at Home, Community Intermediate Care Centre, DME, Orthopaedics (Trauma and Elective), Acute Neuro, Medicine, Surgery, Musculoskeletal and Unplanned Care (A&E and assessment areas). Rotations are currently 6 months in duration, allowing you time to develop and consolidate clinical skills and experience in each of the specialities.

Depending on the rotation, you will be expected to work across 2 hospital sites Arrowe Park Hospital and Clatterbridge Hospital, as well as in the community which involves visiting patients in their own home or place or residence.

The post holder requires a high degree of empathy, understanding, diplomacy, honesty and integrity as well as good communication and interpersonal skills, and be willing to undertake on-going training and development.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for Physiotherapists who can work autonomously and independently, manage their own caseload, which can include patients with complex needs with additional supervision.

You will receive support from experienced senior therapists and team leaders, regular supervision, training and other development opportunities contributing to your CPD and career progression. You will be expected to monitor and support the work and development of therapy assistants and students on clinical placements, as well as contributing to the improvement of therapy services.

We can support newly qualified Physiotherapists or those returning to practice through our preceptorship programme and peer support network.

About us

You will be employed by Wirral Community Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust (WCHC) even though many of the rotations are provided by Wirral University Hospitals NHS Trust (WUTH). You will continue to receive all the benefits and support from our community Trust, including a physiotherapy mentor, when you are on rotation in the hospital.

At WCHC, our priority is to provide safe, high quality care to our communities every day; the kind of care we would want for ourselves and our loved ones. Our services are community-based, and we are one of the first Trusts in England to integrate health and adult social care bringing together teams of Nurses, Allied Health Professionals and Social Workers to delivery truly integrated health and care.

We strive to be a great place to work and thrive, and are committed to investing in our staff to help them fulfil their potential through a range of learning and development opportunities.

Our staff are very much valued and this is why we offer a range of employee benefits including family friendly policies, additional leave purchase scheme, lap tops for remote working, free parking, staff wellbeing support services including counselling, inclusive staff network meetings, and a range of ambassadorial engagement roles.

Join Team WCHC and be part of our talented Allied Health Professional (AHP) workforce. Together we play a crucial role in treating, rehabilitating and improving the lives of those we care for.
