Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic person to work within the busy, award winning Wirral Community Cardiology Service that delivers community based cardiovascular services across Wirral.
The post will require the individual to work within the cardiovascular rehabilitation team to facilitate the current cardiovascular rehabilitation programmes, including the facilitation of exercise and education sessions both at the St Catherine's Health Centre, Birkenhead and Victoria Central Health Centre, Wallasey sites.
Team work is a major feature of this role and the ability to work and communicate with a diverse and multidisciplinary team. The post involves covering colleagues work during periods of absence and includes some evening work. Training will be provided as required.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for an exercise physiologist who can work manage their own caseload, which can include patients with complex needs with additional supervision.
We have access to well equipped gyms for 1:1 rehab and group exercises sessions
You will receive support from experienced senior therapists and team leaders, regular supervision, training and other development opportunities contributing to your CPD and career progression.

Work within professional competencies to provide holistic and responsive care and support to Wirral residents who have a cardiac diagnosis and meet the local referral criteria.
Commit to a dynamic multi-professional service, driving forward person centred care, working together as part of the wider health and care system to reduce unwarranted variation, reduce health inequalities and improve access to CVD rehab that meets the individuals specific needs to ensure the best possible clinical and quality of life outcomes.
They will also be responsible for facilitating Functional Capacity Tests and/or Exercise Tolerance Tests (depending on experience) and developing individualised exercise programmes. The post holder will also manage a clinical caseload, assessing the patient at entry to the programme and co-ordinating their care through to discharge.
Use reflective practice to build skills and knowledge in all aspects of early and core CVD Rehabilitation, plus working within the team to maintain national certification status and meet the 2023 BACPR Standards and Core Components.
