We currently have an opportunity to work with children with speech , language and communication needs. This will be based in clinics and education settings.
Our Speech and Language Therapy Assistant post is three days a week and will be based in Clay Cross with the Children's Community Speech and Language Therapy team. The post will cover Chesterfield and North Derbyshire.

Main duties of the job
- Assist the SLT in providing a clinical service (assessment and treatment) to a SLT caseload
- Carry out programmes of therapy under the supervision of the SLT
- Maintain accurate and contemporaneous records in line with RCSLT professional and Trust standards.
- Participate in training in area of clinical experience
- Demonstrates duties to new starters and less experienced SLTAs, and other support staff.
- Understand the rationale behind therapy tasks and activities set by the SLT based on basic theory of speech language development/breakdown.
- Develop a working knowledge of relevant procedures including safeguarding for children and adults.
