Job summary
Join the Derby City Podiatry Team as our Decontamination Technician, servicing Village Community Medical Centre and satellite clinics.
The Decontamination Technician role provides effective and efficient decontamination of reusable instrumentation for the use of patient care. The role includes transporting clean and used instruments to clinics around Derby City and South Derbyshire.
This role also includes Health and safety audit administration and cleaning duties to help maintain the Podiatry service.
Main duties of the job
You will be part of a highly motivated team, providing a high standard of clinical care.
You will provide effective and efficient decontamination of reusable Podiatry instruments.
You will provide admin support to Podiatry leads and City Podiatry team
You will be part of the Podiatry Team and Wider Trust, and contribute to the development and adhere to the Podiatry Department and Trust policies, strategies and objectives.

To provide effective and efficient decontamination of reusable instrumentation for the use of patient care.
To deliver clean and collect dirty Podiatry instruments from satellite clinics. Process instruments from a Central Podiatry Decontamination Suite. Access to a vehicle is required.
To undertake all the monthly, weekly and daily audits and cleaning for the decontamination rooms, equipment and store rooms, clinic rooms and to order supplies for this.
To support and comply with all health and safety, fire, IG, and infection control policy/procedures/legislation.
To provide cover for colleagues at other locations during periods of sickness and annual leave.
To provide admin support to podiatry managers/ podiatry team. To make up new patient packs and distribute to all clinical sites.
To use Systmone in order to support administration of patient appointments.
