Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, enthusiastic Community Staff Nurse to join our IV Team to treat patients across Derbyshire. We have 2 bases, one at Walton Hospital, Chesterfield and one at Babington hospital, Belper.
The Team focusses on providing Intravenous Therapy to patients in their own homes. We receive referrals mainly from the Derby Royal Hospital, (supporting the inpatient OPAT service), Chesterfield Royal Hospital, GP step up patients and other surrounding acute hospitals
It is essential that you have a keen interest and some experience in the management of patients with Central Venous Access Devices. It will also be beneficial to have the knowledge and experience of working with patients with long term conditions.
The successful candidate will also have an interest in participating in service development and be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people from a variety of backgrounds.

Please note, it is essential that you are able to travel and are willing to work weekends and Bank Holidays, as required.

Main duties of the job
To be responsible for providing intravenous (IV) therapy in the community and empowering some patients to self administer their own IV medication with continued support.
The ability to understand and act on when to use clinical judgement and when to call for assistance.
To carry out all forms of clinical care associated with IV therapy including development, implementation and evaluation of care plans to provide quality care for patients.
