Job summary
The DCHS safeguarding service are pleased to be able to offer an exciting new Band 6 role working alongside/with the Safeguarding Service. The role will support audits and training regarding the Mental Capacity Act (2005) and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLs). The successful applicant will work across DCHS to help the implementation of learning from record reviews, MCA and DoLS audits and sharing information about best practice.
The post is full time and is an opportunity to support career development for professionals interested in delivering training and being part of a safeguarding service. There will be opportunity to learn more about both the child and adult safeguarding agenda and how audits can aid with safeguarding prevention and can play a key role in supporting person centred care.
This role will support DCHS to meet its legal requirements regarding MCA and DoLS and will provide the successful applicant with a variety of networking opportunities across DCHS and potentially wider with other safeguarding partner agencies. Main duties of the job
- To support clinical and managerial staff to carry out their duties in line with MCA (2005) and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards by providing specialist advice to DCHS staff and teams.
- To develop and deliver MCA training that reflects the Mental Capacity Act and in accordance with the Safeguarding Intercollegiate Documents; ensuring that all staff receive comprehensive, effective, and high-quality training.
- To participate and complete audits on the use of the MCA/DoLS in the Trust and prepare reports highlighting good/poor practice and share learning and recommendations for practice.
- To support DCHS via the Safeguarding Service to fulfil its legal requirement and support partnership working regarding MCA and DoLS.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of adults and children in line with the MCA policy and to ensure that the organisation and staff complies with thesame.
- To review health records to support the MCA/DoLS audit completion. To support clinical and managerial staff in carrying out their duties in line with the Mental Capacity Act.
