We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Nurse Associate; Trainee Nurse Associate or Advanced Support Worker to fulfil an integral role within the Amber Valley Wound Clinic Team with clinics based at Babington Hospital, Belper, Alfreton Primary Care Centre,- Heanor Memorial Health Centre, and Ilkeston Community Hospital (weekends and bank holidays).
The working hours will be 8.30am-4.30pm, Monday to Sunday, including bank holidays.
As the service develops this may be adjusted to support service need.
Trainee Nurse Associate or Advanced Support Workers are required to be working towards or wiling to work towards the Nursing Associate qualification.
Main duties of the job
Working as a Nursing Associate within the wound clinics you will need to be passionate and enthusiastic about patient care putting patients at the heart of everything you do.
You will be working in a multi-professional team and will need to be able to think on the spot and be empathetic, communicating effectively with other staff and patients.
As a Nursing Associate within the wound clinic you will develop a level of expertise in the wound healing process, undertake lower limb compression bandaging and with support/supervision complete doppler assessments.
This role will require you to provide wound care for a wide variety of wounds and holistic person centred care for adults.
Working independently under the supervision of Band 5/6 Registered Nurses within the wound clinics.
Nursing Associates/Advanced Support Workers are equipped with the knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes and behaviours relevant to employment as a Nursing Associate.
Nursing Associates will adhere to the Nursing and Midwifery Code ofConduct for Nurses, Midwives and Nursing Associates and work within their scope of practice following the professional standards of practice and behaviours for nurses, midwives and nursing associates and the standards of proficiency for nursing Associates.
