Job summary

We are a team of health professionals working with patients following stroke or with neurological conditions and we are looking to recruit a team lead for our administrative team. The role will be to take leadership of the administration support within the service, to provide admin support to the Operational Lead and to be part of development and on-going evaluation of the administration provision to the service.

The team is friendly and welcoming, with administration seen as a crucial member of the service.

We would welcome candidates from any part of the county as the post holder's base can be negotiated.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide admin and clerical support to the Operational Lead: Diary management for the Operational Lead. For example: Organisation of meetings, booking venues with relevant parties. ESR inputting and data retrieval. Distribution of information to individuals on request. Collation of reports, spread sheets, data on request.
  • Initially to provide admin and clerical support to the Brain Injury and Neuro Support teams
  • To develop the admin and clerical support across Stroke-Neuro, forming and providing leadership to the Admin team in collaboration with Operational Lead and Clinical Team Leads
  • To be able to take calls and handle queries from patients who may have specific issues related to their condition which may impact their communication style and skills.
  • To provide admin and clerical support to clinical teams including dealing directly with patients, carers and other professionals by telephone and being point of contact for clinicians working in the community.

About us

The Stroke-Neuro Team is made up of Therapists, Nurse and Support Staff who work together to provide a service to the people of Derbyshire who have had a stroke or who are living with a long term neurological condition. The team is friendly and supportive, our admin colleagues are a crucial part of our service.

  • Knowledge of detailed secretarial procedures, software programmes, specialised functional terms
  • Telephone experience
  • Previous experience dealing with patients/relatives/general public

  • Previous NHS experience
  • Previous experience supporting clinical Services
  • Knowledge of a range of trust policies and management procedures
