Job summary

At Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS FT we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our outstanding CQC rated Trust as a Band 6 Senior Physiotherapist.

We are looking for an experienced musculoskeletal (MSK) physiotherapist to join our dynamic, innovative and supportive team across Derbyshire.

Derbyshire is home to the Peak District National Park and Derwent Valley World Heritage site and is in commuting distance of towns and cities in neighbouring counties, including Manchester, Nottingham and Sheffield.

Our MSK, FCP and physiotherapy services are working collaboratively across Derbyshire to deliver an integrated service that provides accessible and responsive care to meet the needs of patients, GPs and the wider system.

We work together using both face-to-face and innovative virtual service delivery models to deliver care to patients in the right place, by the right person at the right time.

Working Pattern: Mon-Fri, with flexibility to work other days and times, if required.

The post holder will need to have access to transport and be able to work at different sites in Derbyshire depending on service need.

Main duties of the job

As a Senior Physiotherapist working within our service you will:

  • Assess, diagnose, advise and treat patients with a variety of musculoskeletal conditions.
  • Be responsible for the management of patients on your caseload.
  • Maintain professional autonomy, being responsible for the management of your own patients whilst working within Trust and National guidelines.
  • You will be a key member of the outpatient physiotherapy team responsible for delivering a high quality physiotherapy service.
  • You will have recent experience of working in musculoskeletal outpatients.

All posts require people to be flexible and move across sites according to the department needs, therefore access to transport is essential.

DCHS will provide protected CPD time, mentorship, supervision and funding for relevant training including MSc level Advanced Practice modules through our close links with Sheffield Hallam University.

About us

Our purpose is to provide community health services to a patient population of over one million people in Derbyshire and Derby, as part of Joined Up Care Derbyshire.

We employ around 4,200 substantive staff, caring for patients in 11 community hospitals and more than 30 health centres, as well as in clinics, GP practices, schools, care homes and, increasingly, in people's own homes and via virtual consultations.

During the pandemic response we have led the implementation of public vaccination centres in collaboration with partners across health and social care.
