Due to service expansion we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our outstanding CQC rated Trust as a Band 6 Senior Occupational Therapist at Derbyshire Community Health Services FT.
We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic, innovative and supportive team in the Amber Valley and Erewash locality
Derbyshire is home to the Peak District National Park and Derwent Valley World Heritage site and is in commuting distance of towns and cities in neighbouring counties including Manchester and Sheffield.
Our Occupational Therapy service works collaboratively as part of the Outpatient MSK team across South Derbyshire to deliver an integrated service that provides accessible and responsive care to meet the needs of patients, GPs and the wider system.
We work together using both face to face and innovative virtual service delivery models to deliver care to patients in the right place, by the right person at the right time.

Main duties of the job
As a Senior Occupational Therapist working within our service you will:
- Provide specialist assessment, diagnosis, advise and treatment for patients with a variety of musculoskeletal conditions.
- Demonstrate splinting skills for a variety of hand conditions.
- Be responsible for the management of patients on your caseload.
- Maintain professional autonomy, being responsible for the management of your own patients whilst working within Trust and National guidelines.
- You will be a key member of the outpatient Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy team responsible for delivering a high quality occupational therapy service.
- You will have recent experience of working with patients with pain management conditions and hand rehabilitation.
All posts require people to be flexible and move across sites according to the department needs, therefore access to transport is essential.
DCHS provides protected CPD time including supervision and mentorship.
Part time hours will be considered.

- BSc Degree /Graduate Diploma in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent)
- Health Professions Council Registration (HPC)
- Documented evidence of Continuous Professional
- Development including attendance at recent courses relevant to outpatient Occupational Therapy
Desirable
- Membership of Royal College of Occupational Therapists.
Experience and Knowledge Required
Essential
- Experience of working in an Occupational Therapy team including upper limb rehabilitation and splinting within the NHS.
- Rotational Occupational Therapy experience.
- Clinical education and supervision of qualified or less experienced staff, students, Assistants and Technical Instructors.
Desirable
- Experience in Rheumatology, pain management and community.
