Job summary
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Psychologist with a keen interest and demonstrated experience in Neuro-Rehabilitation or related setting, to join our enthusiastic multi-disciplinary team in providing rehabilitation to adults with Acquired Brain Injury (Level 1 Neuro-Rehabilitation Service). This post will include working within the outpatient and inpatient services and there will be opportunities to deliver individual and group therapy, assessment, plan development, education and support under the supervision of a Specialist Clinical Psychologist.
You will work directly with patients and families, and will also work indirectly to advise the multi-disciplinary team, e.g., providing advice at case conferences on psychological management of patients and rehabilitation approaches. You will play a key role in data collection and analysis of behaviour monitoring scales in order to support the MDT with managing challenging behaviours. There will also be opportunities to co-facilitate staff training, to assist with the planning and facilitation of groups, and to support the case formulation sessions that are run by the psychology team across the service. The post is demanding but provides an excellent opportunity to acquire a broad range of in-depth experience to facilitate further education and career development.
Main duties of the job
TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
- Undertaking clinically supervised work with clients on a one to one basis. This will include both work on an inpatient ward and in an outpatient setting.
- Under supervision, planning and organising a variety of psycho-educational and therapy groups, e.g. anger management, relaxation group.
- Undertaking R&D activities under the supervision of a Clinical Psychologist.
- Working jointly with other professionals.
- Using a multi-disciplinary and evidenced based approach.
