Job summary

The Assistant Practitioner will function at a higher competency level than that of other health care support workers. She/he will have responsibility for actively participating as a key member of the Amputee Rehabilitation Team and will be expected to communicate with a range of people on a range of matters (including the wider multi-disciplinary team) within the community, clinical department and/or ward and acute settings. The Assistant Practitioner will have a responsibility to provide quality services to patients under the supervision of a registered practitioner. The post holder will maintain, develop and evidence their clinical knowledge, skills and competencies at all opportunities.

Main duties of the job

To provide a high standard of care for individuals, under the supervision of the registered practitioner and acting within the standards, protocols and guidelines of the Amputee Rehabilitation service to assist in the assessment and treatment of patient's health and well being needs. Top assess patient needs and plan, deliver and evaluate interventions within the agreed protocols/frameworks and within the Assistant Practitioners defined scope of practice.
