Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a registered nurse associate to join our well-established Bladder and Bowel Service providing continence management to adult patients in the community, covering the beautiful West & North Norfolk community.

This post will be mainly covering the West side of the county, based in Kings Lynn.

This post offers you the chance to develop skills and knowledge of Bladder and Bowel care whilst being supported by team members. We see patients of all ages, many of whom, self refer to the service along side those referred by other medical/social care professionals. The work is varied and you will be working independently within clinic and residential homes & patient's homes, providing assessment, advice & treatments to adults with bladder and or bowel symptoms.

Main duties of the job

To provide robust specialist continence nursing care under the direction of the Bladder and Bowel Service Lead and Team Leads. To provide evidence-based holistic care to patients/carers around the promotion of continence management.

  • To assess, treat and review patients with bladder and or bowel symptoms according to NICE Guidelines relating to bladder and bowel dysfunction
  • To perform investigations including ultrasound bladder scanning, urine testing, pelvic floor muscle assessment demonstrating and maintaining competence at a specialist level
  • To manage a caseload of clients who require specialist continence nursing care
  • To work in collaboration with partner agencies in planning and implementing care promoting continence management.
