Job responsibilities

1. Provide IPaC hand hygiene training internally to NCHC staff and externally i.e. care homes where required

2. Carry out hand hygiene and commode audits across NCHC staff and externally i.e. care homes where required.

3. Attend external premises to screen people (nose and throat swabs) i.e.:

o care home residents for influenza.

o farms or homes of farm workers for avian influenza (Nose and throat swabs)

4. Requires competency for High Consequence Infectious Disease (HCID) PPE donning and doffing

Qualifications

Essential

• oFoundation Degree in Health or Social Care or equivalent demonstrable knowledge and skills acquired through training and experience.
• oExperience of working in a health or social care setting

Experience

Essential

• oExperience of working with people, in the statutory/voluntary/private sector
• oExperience of working with people at the end of life
• oLiteracy skills
• oEvidence of ongoing learning

Desirable

• oExperience dealing with members of the public / service user enquiries
• oExperience of working in peoples homes
• oKnowledge of NHS policy and procedure

Skills

Essential

• oKnowledge of additional specialist areas through in-house training & short courses
• oHighly motivated

Desirable

• oAble to work to strict deadlines in a pressurised environment
• oKnowledge of multi-disciplinary team roles.
• oExperience of working in a community setting.
