Are you a dynamic and motivated individual looking to take the next step in your nursing leadership career? Due to internal promotion, we have an exciting opportunity for a new Ward Sister to support our specialist 9-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit dedicated to patients recovering from limb-loss.
Pine Cottage provides a tailored multidisciplinary approach for our patients to support them in the initial stages of their recovery and rehabilitation adjusting to limb loss to enable a safe discharge. The successful candidate will be supporting a well-established team of nurses and care support workers whilst working closely with our Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Discharge Co-ordinator, Housekeepers and our medical colleagues.
Main duties of the job
1. To provide leadership and support for the ward nursing team, helping co-ordinate and manage the team and patient care delivery.
2. To be a leading member of the multidisciplinary team ensuring continuity and quality in the provision of patient care.
3. To assist the ward manager in the organisation of nursing activities, ward budget, personnel and education of the nursing team.
4. To contribute to the development and evaluation of nursing practice on the unit.
5. Represent the service and profession when required, deputising for the ward manager/manager as required
