Job summary
We are seeking a part time 8b Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join our Post Covid Assessment Service multidisciplinary team with supervisory responsibility for the West Community Neurology Psychology workforce.
The Post Covid Service provides County wide care across Norfolk and Waveney. Providing care in various settings according to patient's needs in both the community, within local community clinic settings and remotely.
The role follows a hybrid model of working where working in the office or at home is supported, with patient interventions being a mix of phone, clinic or patient home visits. The Clinical Psychologist will work as a key member of the multidisciplinary team providing a specialist service for individuals who have a wide range symptoms. The Clinical Psychologist will contribute to meetings with the MDT to ensure rehabilitation is progressing in a goal led way with timely interventions and discharge.
Main duties of the job
Provide a highly specialist psychology service for patients with Post covid and complex conditions including neuropsychological, psychological, cognitive and neuro-behavioural assessment and intervention, risk management and referral on to mental health services as appropriate to need. Clinical input will encompass; 1:1 interventions, joint working with MDT, offering group work for patients and support for families within a wide range of settings which will include outpatient clinics, community and virtual/remote when appropriate. The appointee will have their own caseload. Support the implementation of national standards for the psychological care of patients by ensuring that team members are kept updated and by monitoring outcomes. Contribute to the wider team in service development; provide highly specialist client centred education/training, expert opinion for clients, carers, other health care professionals including registered and non-registered health care staff and students. Oversee and support the team to work with complex cases and to manage risk issues through supporting the team and taking relevant action as required. Clinically manage the Clinical Psychology team, ensuring relevant Trust policies and procedures are implemented. The post holder will be required to guide the psychology staff, ensuring a high-quality service/ standards to clients and their families. Provide clinical supervision to Psychology Team in the Community Neurology Service .
