Job summary
The post is accountable to the Lead IPC/Senior IPAC Nurse/Practitioner for the day-to-day Infection Prevention & Control management across NCH&C and to assist with on-going improvement in the quality of the patient's experience.
The post holder has a responsibility to act upon standards of Infection Prevention & Control that fall below the acceptable standard and legislative responsibilities.
This position is involved in ensuring the trust complies with its legislative and licensing requirements, i.e. The Health and Social Care Act 2015, and for the provision of specialist advice and guidance for all health care professionals and support staff across the trust.

Main duties of the job
With support, act as a subject matter expert (SME) demonstrating knowledge and skill within IP&C, including the integration of research evidence into practice by clinical reasoning and decision making.
Assist with the provision of patient management in relation to Infection Prevention & Control. The post holder will where required be responsible for advising on the management of defined group/groups of patients requiring specific support in collaboration with clinicians
Be responsible for ensuring workload for self and others is planned & prioritised according to service targets & needs and budgets.
Actively contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings and other meetings as appropriate
