Job summary

An exciting opportunity has become available for Band 2 HCAs at Foxley Ward in Dereham Hospital. This is a fixed term post of 6 months. There is a possibility that this length could be extended/ position offered elsewhere in the trust for the right candidate.

Foxley Ward delivers quality and patient centred care, providing rehabilitation to a wide group of patients with varying complexities of needs. Our patients come to us following medical, surgical or orthopaedic treatment or if appropriate, directly from their own homes. We also provide palliative and end of life care.

Good opportunities exist for further training and development within the role and you will be joining an enthusiastic, supportive, friendly Multi-Disciplinary Team.

This post involves rotation between day and night duties, full and part time posts are available, and the Trust supports flexible working.

Previous care experience is essential in view of the fixed term nature of this post. Foxley Ward is temporarily increasing bed capacity to 32 to help with the winter pressures across the NHS.

Main duties of the job

1. To work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team promoting the continuity of patient rehabilitation and care as planned.2. To be pro-active in assisting the organisation of nursing and therapy activities.3. To contribute to the development and evaluation of nursing care.4. To be pro-active on ward rounds and in multi-disciplinary team meetings
