Job summary

Within the Neuroscience Pathway at NCH&C, we are looking to recuit a Health Care Assistant into a permanent full time post. If you are looking for a change we may be the ideal place for you! We are a large friendly team who use our specialist skills in caring for brain injury patients from across the region on our twenty bed inpatient ward, not far from the centre of Norwich.

Please note unfortunately this vacancy isn't suitable for candidates requiring sponsorship.

Main duties of the job

You will work as an integral part of the ward nursing team and be responsible for providing high standards of rehabilitation care to a group of patients with complex needs. This post involves working a combination of early, late and night shifts covering some weekends and bank holidays. Please note the successful candidate will work 5 x 7.5 hour day shifts each week, or nights of 11.5 hours as needed.

You will deliver evidence based care to a high standard. Excellent communication skills and a supportive approach to team working within a rehabilitation setting are essential to the success of this service. You will demonstrate the ability to working within the Trust's behavioral framework which will be essential to the role. In this role we will be able to train you to deliver essential tracheostomy care, enteral feeding, and effective postural management.

An ability to manage your own learning supported by the team gaining new knowledge and skills to benefit yourself and the service will be vital. Professionalism is an important part of the role and we would expect staff to be able to deliver this.

Good interpersonal skills are essential as is the need to be cheerful and courteous at all times. Good computer skills or the ability to learn will be required for this role is this is essential to this unit. Record keeping will also be essential part of the role and important to ensure high standards of care delivery for this post.
