Job summary
To be responsible for the assessment, treatment and management of patients.
To provide advice and education to healthcare professional and carers.
The post involves working closely with the Multi-disciplinary Team.
Main duties of the job
To undertake comprehensive examination and assessment of patients including those with diverse presentations/multiple pathologies; using clinical reasoning skills and manual examination techniques to provide an accurate clinical diagnosis.
To develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme based on the above
To constantly re-examine the patients response to treatment and modify programme accordingly.
To hold responsibility for and organise own caseload within delegated areas of the service with ongoing support from a senior therapist.
To communicate effectively with all members of the multi disciplinary team, physiotherapy colleagues and outside agencies. (e.g. social services)
To delegate responsibility as appropriate e.g. assistants and clerical staff.
