An exciting
opportunity has arisen for a Band 2 Community
Clerical Clerk /Receptionist to join our Dermatology Service in Warrington.
This is a static post within the Dermatology service, based in the Martin Dawes
Stand of the Warrington Wolves ground.
This is an opportunity to
come and work within our busy service, bringing your previous extensive
knowledge into a forward-thinking and exciting service. We work efficiently to
provide support to the clinical service to meet local and national waiting time
directives ensuring patients receive timely and appropriate clinical care. We
are looking for a candidate who has the skills to prioritise effectively to
ensure the service needs are met daily.
As a valued member of our team, you will bring your
extensive prior experience to contribute to our dynamic and progressive
service. Operating within a fast-paced environment, you will play a vital role
in supporting the Dermatology administration team, booking appointments to help
to ensure that local and national waiting time targets are consistently
met. Your efforts will directly impact the delivery of timely and appropriate
care for patients. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong skills in
effective prioritisation, enabling the service to address daily needs
efficiently and maintain high standards of support for clinical operations.
Main duties of the job
Administrative:

Processing
and contacting patients to book/amend appointments on Systmone and Somerset
-
Actioning phone enquires and seeing the
process through.

Actioning tasks that will come through
on System one and put them on the correct, waiting list, discharge etc.

Liaising
with internal and external services and partner agencies when necessary.

Undertake
general office duties (photocopying, laminating, scanning etc)

Prepping
clinics

Deal
with internal and external post

Covering
reception when required

In
addition, the post holder will be expected to carry out any other duties as
required, within the remit of their role.

Dealing with Internal histologies -
updating patients records and putting them in the correct clinicians
administration boxes.

Job responsibilities
Bridgewater Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust plan to integrate and form a new organisation on the 1st April 2026. As such, if your start date is on or after 1st April 2026, you will be employed by the newly formed organisation. Should you join Bridgewater prior to this date, your employment will automatically transfer into the new organisation. Duties and Responsibilities:
- To act as first point of contact for all client enquiries, responding to telephone and face to face enquiries in an efficient, tactful and professional manner, redirecting calls, taking action as appropriate. Liaising with internal services and partner agencies when necessary as directed.
- To carry out general reception duties where required maintaining a neat and tidy reception environment;
- The maintenance of the patient booking system in the reception function to include the preparation and arrangement of appointments including inputting of referrals ensuring all clerical work resulting is dealt with in a timely manner;
- To display and ensure availability of information sources at reception with an adequate and attractive display of front desk poster and leaflet materials to include distribution and collation of all patient surveys;
- To deal with all internal/external mail and redistribution to relevant department;
- To accept deliveries and ensure these are dealt with promptly;
- To ensure vaccine deliveries are stored in accordance with the Immunisation policy where appropriate;
- To maintain an effective photocopying, filing and archiving system including records management in line with Trust policy;
- To provide relief cover at other locations as required by Management to include the assistance with the School Health Immunisation Programme;
- To copy type/audio type medical reports and general correspondence as required;
- To report any faults, defects or building defects to the CAFM Helpdesk;
- To maintain appropriate levels of stationery stock; to place requisitions onto the Purchase Ordering system;
- To book clinic and meeting rooms within the premises and keep room availability updated as appropriate;
- To update and maintain clinical diaries as requested;
- To undertake delegated duties commensurate with the banding;
- Where required with the Service to assist in the collation of records packs as directed;
- To attend local service meetings as and when directed by Line Manager;
