We are looking to recruit experienced and motivated staff to complete a Registered Nurse Degree Top Up Apprenticeship. This opportunity for career progression is part of the Trust's efforts to grow our own future nursing workforce to support our services to continue to provide high quality patient care now and in the future.

The nursing apprenticeship will take between 18months to 2 Years to complete. Successful candidates will be required to attend university and practice placements and will be renumerated according to their existing substantive pay band (Typically Band 4).

On successful completion of the programme and receipt of a PIN registration with the NMC the post holder will progress into a Registered Nursing post, paid at band 5. Successful candidates will be expected to be open to deployment to services across the Bridgewater footprint.

Applicants will need to be able to evidence GCSE English and Maths at Grade C or above or evidence an equivalent English and Maths qualification before being considered for interview.

Main duties of the job

The Nursing Degree Top Up Apprenticeship is a 2 year education programme working towards becoming a Registered Nurse (Adult) with a BSc (Hons) degree. The course combines workbased and academic learning between Bridgewater Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (BCHFT) and the selected University as the Higher Education Institute (HEI).

As a degree nurse apprentice and a paid employee of BCHFT, the apprentice will follow a placement circuit allocated by the University. This will ensure that the apprentice gains experience working across internal and external practice learning environments, to gain an appreciation of the different areas of local healthcare services and use the learning opportunities to meet the requirements of the Nursing and Midwifery (NMC) and the Institute for Apprenticeships.

On successful completion of the programme the apprentice will be eligible to apply for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council; therefore, the apprentice must meet the assessment requirements as set by the NMC and in addition, be required to complete the integrated end point assessment.

During the education programme the apprentice will develop skills and knowledge that will allow them to work in todays dynamic and changing healthcare environments. They are required to commit to selfdirected study and successfully complete the education programme within the contract period.
