Job summary
Bridgewater`s 0-19 services in Halton is looking for an enthusiastic and self- motivated individual to work as a band 6 childhood immunisation community nurse in Halton`s immunisation team.
The successful candidate will have a passion for nursing excellence and patient safety. They will support the team leader in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of the immunisation programmes delivered to school aged children across Halton. This will include the Childhood flu, HPV, Men ACWY and Td/IPV immunisation programmes.
The successful candidate will work as a source of expertise; demonstrating advanced knowledge, skills and experience in the field of immunisations. They will support the delivery of immunisation training to the 0-19 workforce.
The successful candidate will have experience of vaccinating. Experience of working in a position of leading a team is desirable.
Main duties of the job
As a registered nurse, the post holder will support the delivery of a high-quality childhood immunisation programme, delivering large scale immunisation and vaccination programmes within community and educational settings.
The postholder will provide Immunisation Training and support to the school-aged immunisation workforce to ensure they meet desired competencies in their role.
The postholder will work as a source of expertise, be able to demonstrate advanced knowledge, skills and experience in the management of school-aged immunisations.
The postholder will work with the team leader and performance team to collate and analysis the immunisation data.
The postholder will ensure there is the correct skill mix is available at each vaccination session allocating staff on e-Roster.
The postholder will work alongside the team leader in planning and delivering strategies to maximise uptake of school-aged vaccinations.
The postholder will undertake appraisals of skill mix team members and personal progressing any disciplinary or capability issues when appropriate.
