Occupational Therapist, to join our friendly integrated intermediate care team.
Flexible working or condensed hours will be considered, following a flexible
working application.
The service provides an
integrated approach to reablement and recovery working with social care,
general practitioner, District nurses and third-party organisations to provide
a holistic approach. We provide a service 5 days a week, this is subject to
change to 7 days working in the future.
The post holder will work in
partnership with the multi-disciplinary team, to provide a holistic,
client-centred approach. As a Band 6 Occupational Therapist
you will be required to assist the team leads in planning, coordinating,
delivering, and evaluating the service needs, to patients who are in our
service. They will also need to supervise junior staff and support with
students development.
There is opportunity for
rotation between our community team and bed-based units to develop skills and
knowledge in recovery approach. A typical day in the service would be to
provide specialist assessments to enable recovery and independence for the
clients we assess, we provide interventions to residents living in the
Warrington area, therefore the successful candidate would need to be able to

Main duties of the job
Be responsible and accountable for
providing comprehensive specialist assessment and treatments of patients
including those with diverse presentations/multiple pathologies; using clinical
reasoning skills and evident based techniques to provide an evidence-based
interventions. To develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme
which is goal specific and to promote independence, where applicable. The post
holder will be constantly re-examining the patients response to treatment and
modify programme accordingly in line with clients met goals, team, and
organisational objectives.
The post holder will be responsible for
their own continuing professional development and ensuring they are meeting
their requirements for their registration.
The post holder will work as a member
of the community and rehabilitation bed base therapy team to provide
rehabilitation as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team.
The post holder will be responsible for
education, training, and advice of staff from other multidisciplinary service
and the supervision and delegation of treatment programmes to staff from own
and other disciplines.
Supervise, educate and assess the
performance of Occupational Therapy students and support Band 5 occupational
therapists to ensure high standards of practice and meets organisational and
professional standards.

organisational development plans, audits and make recommendations to clinical
leads/ managers for service improvement
