The Childrens Occupational
Therapy Team are community based and work in a variety of settings including
health centres, mainstream and special educational needs schools, and nurseries
as well as childrens homes. They work with children from birth up to the age
of 19 years who have a range of physical and developmental conditions, complex
needs and functional difficulties.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for a HCPC registered
Occupational Therapist with excellent communication skills who can bring transferable
skills and experiences with children and some OT knowledge to the post.
You will be trained to provide
specialist therapy assessments including functional, and coordination
assessments. You will also be trained to provide specialist seating assessments
in schools, intervention planning and the ability to evaluate and record
outcomes for a range of children including those with complex conditions.
The post holder must have
excellent communication skills and be committed to continuing professional
development. You will be working alongside experienced Occupational Therapists
and the wider multi-professional team including physiotherapy, therapy
assistants, speech and language therapy, community paediatricians and
specialist nurses.
You should also be able to demonstrate
the ability to use current evidence-based practice and have research and audit
skills to apply in your practice. You will be directly involved in service
developments and initiatives and demonstrate the ability to contribute to the
learning, supervision and development of students and Band 3 staff members.
