Job summary

We are looking to recruit band 7, Senior Nurse Practitioner to work as part of the Urgent Treatment Centre team, who will be responsible for providing high quality health care and information to the public. An opportunity exists for an experienced and highly motivated practitioner with relevant Adult and Paediatric experience who is committed to making a valuable contribution to the further development of these successful and pioneering services.

As a Registered Nurse you will be responsible for supporting your Manager in ensuring that our service users needs are met through the delivery of high-quality care. As a centre of excellence, you will offer a person-centred approach to their independence and well-being.

The services offer treatment for minor injuries and minor ailments 365 days per year, and are open from 8am 9:00 pm. With the addition of diagnostic Xray facility 8am-8pm

If you have post qualification experience in A&E, Walk-in Centre or Urgent Care with recent experience in the treatment of minor ailments and Minor injuries we would like to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

To act as a senior clinical professional within Widnes Urgent Treatment Centre. Liaising with the UTC team and colleagues across the wider social and health care environment to promote, maintain and enhance effective multidisciplinary patient care.

To act as an independent practitioner who provides advice to patients and staff which contributes to Triage, utilising Manchester triage system, history taking, assessment, diagnosis, plan of care and treatment of patients.

Possess and demonstrate extended skills in the management of a wide range of health care problems i.e. minor illness and injury.

Maintain a high standard of clinical work when carrying out clinical procedures.

Responsible for the safe custody of medication, including checking and administration.

Ensure compliance with our clinical governance framework, you will motivate colleagues, champion service user safety and dignity and drive continuous improvement.

Exercise professional independent and clinical judgement in managing or referring clients to a variety of primary and secondary care services as appropriate

Be equipped with leadership skills to drive the team to efficient and safe working practice and improved care for patients

Maintain effective channels of communication both within the Urgent Treatment Centre and across the wider health and social care economy.

Promote and maintain the quality and standards of the Urgent Treatment Centre services in accordance with organisational and Trust Clinical Governance requirements.

Facilitate a culture, which promotes and maintains best practice utilising current and best evidence, as well as culture of civility and respect.
