Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the community nursing service in Halton. Are you an enthusiastic and motivated individual looking for a new challenge? You will join a team delivering high quality care to patients who are housebound through supporting the team within phlebotomy task, including admin duties, taking referrals, liaising with patients and the wider MDT. Applicants must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, I.T skills- word, excel and outlook. If you feel you have the right skills to join our team of District nurses, then we would like to hear from you. You must be willing to work within an integrated team and develop your skills and knowledge. Community nursing is evolving at a fast pace, and you must be able to embrace change.
Main duties of the job
Adult venepuncture is performed with referrals, collaborating with team members and promptly reporting patient condition changes. Patients, relatives, and carers receive support, and equality and individual rights are maintained. The role involves service development, administrative tasks, accurate data entry on blood forms, following standard identity checks, and clear communication of procedures to patients. Equipment is safely managed, and records are precisely kept in the IT system. All patients are treated respectfully. Basic clinical tasks are completed as instructed by the district nursing sister. Stock is monitored and reordered via Shared Business Services, and environmental cleanliness is maintained per Infection Control Guidelines.
