Job summary
We
are looking to recruit a highly motivated enthusiastic band 5 staff nurse to
work in Halton treatment rooms. Applicants must have excellent interpersonal and
communication skills, have a Patient centred approach to care, be highly
motivated and able to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
The treatment room service is for
non-housebound patients, providing a comprehensive range of clinical skills
across 7 sites in Halton (Widnes and Runcorn). Hours are 8.30 4.30. Currently
the service is Mon Fri with one clinic site operational Saturday and Sunday.
Weekly evening clinics sessions are planned for the future to meet patient
needs.
The Treatment room service is
committed to supporting personal development. We offer a supportive 4-week
supernumerary period for all new starters. We have an in-house training programme
for Mentorship and a 4-day Comprehensive leg Ulcer course, to support all new
starters within Bridgewater. We also encourage staff to complete a credited
nurse prescribing module.
Main duties of the job
You will work autonomously in a
clinic setting delivering:
Medication administration /Medicines
management / Injections
Health Promotion
Holistic assessments
planning and evaluation of patients care needs.
Patient Centered Care
Complex wound management/Doppler
assessments/Compression Bandaging
Ear Syringing
Routine re catheterisations for
ambulatory patients
Mentoring, Teaching and Assessing
students.
In
addition, the post holder will actively support the Treatment Room Service by
undertaking responsibility for delegated patients within a clinical setting.
Liaising with the Treatment Room team leader, District Nurse Coordinator and
District Nurses will ensure information
sharing in relation to patient care / changes to care plans and the
continuity of care and reviewing of complex care packages.
