Job summary
We are looking to recruit experienced and motivated community nurses to
complete the Specialist Community qualification (SPQ) at a level 7 District
Nursing PgDip apprenticeship studying with Manchester Metropolitan University
and undertaking practice placement experience within Halton and Warrington
District Nursing. The course also includes the opportunity to study for the
V300 Nurse Prescribing and physical examinations skills. The District Nursing
service is commissioned to deliver safe and high-quality care to housebound
patients within the community. As a District Nurse trainee, you will be working
towards developing essential skills and knowledge to care for patients with
long term conditions and complex health needs within an integrated healthcare structure.
There will be exciting opportunities to develop strong leadership and clinical
skills to ensure the delivery of effective evidence-based practice, clinical
assessment, care planning and caseload management.

Main duties of the job

Whilst undertaking the SPQ over the first year (52 weeks and 1 day) the
successful candidates will be renumerated at a band 5 then, subject to the
successful completion of the course requirements, move onto a band 6 District
Nurse Team Leader.
